How to ensure you have a great experience as either the owner or the user hiring kit from others.
Agreeing the Hire:
- Select suitable dates and request hire
- Communicate with the user who listed the kit you would like to hire
- The seller can ask for further information, on activity experience etc or decline the request
The Initial Handover:
- At the agreed date and time, in the defined location, the handover will take place.
- The owner should have copies of the pre/post Hire Inspection Form
- Both parties will check over the condition and function of the equipment
- Any details around condition should be included in the pre hire details section
- Take photographs or videos of the kit to highlight a full representation of condition
- Both parties must agree on condition before signing the form and handing over the kit (as this is the basis for any disagreement when the kit is returned).
- Once signed the kit can be handed over and the ‘customer’ can go off on their chosen adventure!
The Return Handover:
- This must be at the agreed time and place, otherwise is a breach of contract
- During this handover, both parties must review the condition of the kit
- Once there is agreement it has been handed back in the expected condition, the post hire element of the Hire Inspection Form can be completed and signed
Disputes:
In the instance the kit is returned and the owner believes it has been damaged:
- Review the agreed upon condition of the kit, outlined in the Hire Inspection Form
- Review any photos or videos which might clear up the matter
- Where the kit has been damaged during the course of the hire, it is the responsibility of the individual who hired the kit from the owner to reimburse them for the cost of repairing the kit (as contracted through the Hire Agreement, which all users accepted as part of using KitUp)
- In the odd case where a user refuses to compensate for damage caused, the owner should get in touch with KitUp, who will try to intervene to remedy the situation
